1Password SaaS Manager
Trelica rebuilt inside 1Password, discovering apps through the password vault and browser extension — and metering AI token spend as a first-class line item.
About 1Password SaaS Manager
Discovery method is what separates the tools in this category, and this one discovers differently from almost all of them. 1Password announced the acquisition of Trelica — a 2018-founded platform for discovering real application usage and managing access to managed and unmanaged apps — on 7 January 2025, and folded it into its Unified Access suite as 1Password SaaS Manager. The connector count has grown from the 300-plus Trelica carried at acquisition to over 400 today. The result inherits a source no finance-led competitor has: the credentials sitting in employees' own 1Password vaults, plus signals from the 1Password browser extension. Add identity providers, SSO, finance systems, HR systems and a connector library the vendor puts at over 400, and the shadow-IT picture reaches apps that never touched a corporate card or an SSO tenant — the ones staff signed up for with a work email and a personal payment method.
The second differentiator is newer. The product tracks AI consumption as spend in its own right, connecting to vendors including Cursor, Anthropic and OpenAI and breaking usage down by team, user, model and API key, with token budgets and burn-rate alerts. Teams watching per-seat AI tooling turn into variable metered cost have limited alternatives for that today.
Everything else is category-standard done competently: unused-licence and redundant-app identification, policy-based provisioning and de-provisioning, and access reviews. 1Password was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for SaaS Management Platforms. Pricing is the weak spot for evaluation — nothing is published. SaaS Manager can be bought inside the Unified Access platform or on its own, but both routes go through sales, and the practical question is whether you are already a 1Password shop, since the vault-derived discovery advantage largely evaporates if you are not.
Pricing
- Model
- Paid
- Notes
- Quote-only. 1Password states that Unified Access pricing is tailored to the organisation and the capabilities required, and that the platform can be bought whole or as individual products including SaaS Manager — but no per-user rate, tier list or entry price is published for either route, and both the enterprise and business paths route to a 'request a quote' form. Third-party listings describe the model as per user per month with tiers varying by feature set and organisation size; that structure could not be confirmed against a vendor page, and no free trial for SaaS Manager is advertised.
